Simos C. Dimas

Past clients include leading New York City restauranteurs and small businesses, a major  hospitality-related development project in the Adirondacks, investors requiring due diligence and structuring advice for international investment opportunities,  the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, the national Greek airline Olympic Airways, cruise lines operating out of Greece, major U.S. tour operators to Greece, and numerous project owners, contractors, and developers including UK and US multi-national corporations doing business in Greece.  

• Successfully litigated the first case brought by the Greek government under its antiquities law
• Helped negotiate the U.S.-Greek bilateral air treaties as co-counsel to the Greek delegation representing the Greek national carrier Olympic Airways ion the U.S.
• Worked with the American Jewish lobby on the recognition of Israel by Greece 
• As President of the Panepirotic Federation of America, worked with Greek Foreign Ministry  on Albanian refugee policy and issues involving the Greek ethnic minority in Albania. 
• Founding member of the Hellenic Council of America 
• Served as pro bono Director of Greek Tourism following the 1985 U.S. travel advisory against Greece, and organized a national public relations and advertising campaign which is credited with revitalizing the Greek tourism industry.

Mr. Dimas began his career in trust and estate planning, holding positions with Chase Manhattan and Morgan Guaranty before entering the practice of law. A graduate of Columbia College, he received his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law.    Mr. Dimas is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, awarded to “Americans of diverse origins for their outstanding contributions to their own ethnic groups and to American society” and a fluent speaker of Greek.
